Simple Pumps |
For over 150 years, the lever arm water pump worked well without changing its basic technology. In fact, millions of people worldwide still use it everyday to get clean drinking water. But as good as these hand pumps are, they can be even better. That's why Simple Pump™ took all the advantages of the traditional hand pump and improved them. Then they took all the disadvantages and got rid of them.
THE RESULT - A hand pump so easy to use, a child can pump up to 5 gallons per minute. - A hand water pump so durable, it has a 50-year lifespan. - A well water pump so affordable, you can install it anywhere you need safe drinking water.
Simple Pump™ uses a pump rod design to give you advantages not seen in other comparable lever arm pumps. - It's completely lead-free, CNC-machined stainless steel and aluminum components. All components are Safe Drinking Water Act compliant. - It's freeze-proof - We have pumps operating 24/7 without difficulty in high-wind, freezing temperatures reaching -17°F (-27°C) - It has a 50-year useful life. Maintenance costs are so minimal they average only $1 per year! - It can be quickly moved from well to well. - It requires such little force to operate, it easily pumps 5 gallons per minute from depths up to 200 feet - at normal household pressure. - It comes with a 5-year parts guarantee. - It works efficiently in household, irrigation, and industrial/environmental applications.
Simple Pump™ works Hard for Less Than $1 a Year! Simple Pump™ has an exceptionally long use-life because it is constructed from durable materials that resist wear and tear from daily use. Because of this, it costs nearly nothing to maintain. In fact, only 3 parts ever need replacing: the piston's double u-cup seals, the pump head's rod seal and the rod guides in the drop pipe.
What's more, Simple Pump™ is so tough you only need to replace those small parts once every 5 years. On average, your maintenance costs only $1 a year!
The ADA100 Simple Pump™ takes very little effort to generate strong water flow. The secret is based on a scotch yoke design where rotational motion is converted into linear motion. This allows you to draw water from 100-foot depths with minimal effort. For added ease, a 10 lb. counter weight assists with the lift cycle. Simple Pump works hard for less than $1 a year!
In addition to Simple Pump's™ hand pump design advantages, the ADA100 includes: - Convenient wheelchair access: drive shaft target installation elevation is 34" above ground level. - Larger handle grip: grip diameter is 1.2" so user can grasp it more securely. - Easy to use: water flows even with less than a full rotation of the crank handle. - Install anywhere: pump head elevation adjusts up to 10". - Takes less than 5 pounds of input force to generate water.
MADE FOR THE OUTDOORS The ADA100 Simple Pump™ works reliably in any climate. One pump stands strong in one of the windiest places in the U.S. Dozens more are moving water in temperatures reaching 17°F (-27°C). For added protection, the drive system is mounted in a sturdy 10 gauge cabinet.

OPERATING THE PUMP With the ADA100, it takes less than 5 pounds of force to lift 2-3 gallons per minute from 60-100 feet of static water depth. For added flexibility, the pump adjusts to your site's static water level.
You can decrease the amount of force needed turn the crank by decreasing the stroke length. To do this, simply decrease the diameter of the cam rotation in the scotch yoke. Lessening the stroke reduces the amount of water per rotation. In turn, it cuts down the force needed to rotate the crank. For even easier operation, you can adjust the lift stroke from 2" to 6".
ADA SIMPLE PUMP The ADA100 mounts on a special 4", 5", 6" or 8" well cap. The suggested minimum casing diameter is 4". The suggested well casing elevation (above level grade) is 12" to 20".
Meets all accessibility requirements of: - The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) - The Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) - Approved by the USDA Forest Service for installation in National Parks and National Forests
The ADA100 Simple Pump™ was developed with the USDA-FS Massoula Technology and Development Center (MTDC). The ADA100 Simple Pump™ currently serves people in: - Ocala National Forest - Medicine Bow Route National Forest - Douglas Ranger District - Mount Washington - Cle Elum Ranger District - Custer National Forest - Gauley Ranger District - Wenatchee National Forest - Payette National Forest - Various BLM wilderness camping areas
