We're pioneering a new approach to donations. Rather than giving dollars that get dramatically diluted between your checkbook and the people/projects you'd like to help, you can use this method to directly provide tools that create micro-businesses in developing countries. As the famous African saying goes, "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day; teach a man to fish and he eats forever." This section gives you an opportunity to not only “teach people to fish” but also provide a variety of "fishing poles”, tools that begin a systematic, expanding progression out of poverty. This list describes people in developing countries with projects and dreams, the tools and training they need to make these dreams real, and the nonprofit organizations sponsoring and overseeing the project. Project Description: Initially the German Embassy has agreed to purchase some oil presses for the communities of Mbueca and Mandambuzi. Unfortunately this has fallen through and we no longer have funding for this. The Germans have agreed to fund the maize mill in Cobue, which at least gives us something to work towards. I still feel that these presses are very important and am determined to acquire them. My project funds could afford to pay for the, but I feel that these funds could be better used for other parts of the Agricultural project. So it would be best to try to raise the funds to pay for these presses separately. (Ref. 101340 -12).
