2002 The International Institute for
Sustainable Development Training Events
The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) conducts
trainings at their headquarters at Colorado State University in Fort Collins,
Colorado USA or by request anywhere in the world.
The International Institute for Sustainable Development was established
to assist individuals, groups, and organizations who help village residents
or local communities to use appropriate technologies and process for sustainable
development. IISD works across disciplines, institutions, and national
boundaries to facilitate community-based development.
The activities of the International Institute
for Sustainable Development include:
Training: IISD holds workshops and
courses for development practitioners (at project, intermediate, and policy
levels of society) to help them improve their skills in using the processes
and technologies that are essential to sustainable development. Courses
cover subjects such as planning, motivation, leadership, management, communication,
and evaluation as they relate to development projects. IISD also organizes
conferences on community-based development, where participants can exchange
ideas and build upon their field experiences.
Research: IISD conducts studies on
its own or upon request to explore relationships between key concepts
and variables relating to sustainable development processes, and to contribute
to the larger body of knowledge. IISD develops research programs in collaboration
with other universities, NGOs, government agencies, businesses, and private
organizations.
Technical Assistance and Consultancy.
IISD assists practitioners in planning, designing, implementing, managing,
monitoring, and evaluating development projects/programs.
